Established in 1990, Mladika Publishing House specialises in youth literature, publishing a number of works by acclaimed Slovene authors, for example, Slavko Pregl, Vinko Möderndorfer, Lila Prap, and Mate Dolenc. It also issues textbooks and works in translation. Many of Mladika's works have been nominated for literary accolades: the Večernica and Desetnica Awards, for instance. Kekec, Slovenia's foremost literary magazine for elementary school children, is another project run by Mladika. To a minor extent, they also publish works for adult readers, such as monographs of famous Slovene poets Josip Murn and Oton Župančič. In 2005 they opened a bookstore in Ljubljana, alongside their offices.
Založba Mladika izdaja predvsem literarna dela za mladino, pa tudi istoimensko revijo.
